AVRBC and Better Impact are proud to present the Annual IMPACT Award to celebrate two individuals who have shown exceptional leadership and knowledge in the field of administration of volunteer resources. This award showcases the importance of the profession and encourage all professionals in this field to continue to lead and to be inspired. Our 2017 winners are:

AVRBC is also pleased to recognize the City of Burnaby, Citizen Support Services for their support of and commitment to advancing the volunteer management profession.
We are pleased to welcome Vivian Xu as our newly appointed AVRBC Treasurer. Vivian is the Accounting Manager at Haro Park Centre who oversees financial reporting to Vancouver Coaster Health and BC Housing and provides support to monthly financials. After spending several years in non-profit organizations including Vancouver Society of Children’s Centre and ALS Society of BC, she is passionate about strategic planning and fundraising for non-profit organization.
We wish to thank Vijay Vyas for sharing his expertise with the AVRBC board in his new role on the finance committee. An accountant for over 20 years and a Senior Financial Auditor for the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance, his expertise is truly valued.

Volunteer Canada recently released their 2017 study on volunteer recognition. They also released an updated Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement, with a revised ten standards of practice. https://volunteer.ca/ccvi I encourage you to take a read through both.
