Facilitator/Trainer for 2017 South Okanagan Road Show
Background: AVRBC supports a variety of initiatives throughout out the province, which focus on the advocacy, development, training and support of Leaders of Volunteers
One such initiative is the AVRBC Road Show in partnership with Volunteer BC. The Road Shows provide opportunities for any community to draw on the expertise of trainers province wide, to present quality workshops to their constituents. The AVRBC subsidizes some training for the event and assists in the search for trainers. Road Show events may happen anywhere in the Province where there is an interest.
2017 South Okanagan Road Show:
The Penticton area is hosting a Road Show in fall of 2017, and will require one trainer willing to travel to their site and able to provide training as outlined in the requirements section below. The specific date is flexible and can be scheduled in late October or early November according to the availability of the trainer. Preferred training topics include: best practice for volunteer engagement and attracting a diverse team; communication style assessment and skill building; team building; skills assessment. The Road Show is formatted as a one day event with one workshop in the morning and another in the afternoon
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the unique requirements of adult learners
- Past experience leading/facilitating workshops for adult learners
- Excellent working knowledge in the stated preferred areas of interest
- Proven ability to create a quality curriculum for presentation
- Qualification to lead a group through a Myers Briggs type communication style assessment tool is an asset
The successful candidate will present an overview of their proposed training to the AVRBC for approval
Trainers are compensated for time and travel.
